madz is here now and WE are just about recovered from the jetlag.

Well maddie arrived in early hours of the 28th, she said she had slept for 10 hours, I slept for 3!! so we both suffered jet lag!
I could not settle and ended up checking flight status hourly! Mind you meant I got to chat to jez for a couple of hours online, he was like a little lost puppy, there is no doubt in my mind that he loves her to pieces. We had met a couple of times but and chatted via text a bit, but i think he feels ok about coming and staying now……he knows I am a nutter and thus feels right at home!
Maddie has a definate bump now and it is so cool to be able to ‘see’ my granchild, maddie keeps asking me to tell her where the baby is lying, its funny doing that on a pregnant tummy and knowing that it is my grandchild in there. We went shopping and madz cant get over all the different baby clothes that there are here, kept saying we have to wait til jez comes, so only got a few bits although maddie has new clothes for her, she says she feels less dowdy now and is so pretty in them. Its cool going round looking at baby stuff with her though, its what a mum and daughter should do together, and until now it was seperate…although mel does it quite well coz she sends me pictures of things she has seen, so we have a good system of going shopping ‘together’ for baby bits. Wish she was here too, would be great to be all together, but she is coming out in July, which will fly by.
Have included some photos from xmas and of maddie at airport
jeff and her are creased up most of the time kidding each other on, she keeps telling him off coz when she laughs she has a very wobbly tummy and wants to pee!
gracie has gone away on holiday again, to a beach home, she sounds like she is having a great time, nut its weird having her away for more than a night.

waiting for maddie

Well christmas is over, its actually the 27th in the morning(despite what the date says above), Gracie’s friend chelsea stayed over xmas eve, made it less quiet here, they made a gingerbread house, and there was no way was I touching it, they made such a mess, the giggling from the kitchen was great to hear, then they were both asleep by 10!
The main thing I have been waiting for is Maddie, she has been in the air for about 5 hours now……I have been tracking the flight, it worried me her travelling so late but I got reassurance from Ahmed that it would be ok if she wore here stockings( she was discusted with them- nice long white ones), drinks plenty and moves about, she has been checked out by the midwife and GP, Mel has been great and got one of her friend’s who works for air NZ to keep an eye on her, it’s good when people use their contacts to help people! He has my mobile and my home number and will call if any problems…..but I am stilllike a cat on a hot tin roof!!I know I can’t do anything so should be able to sleep but have not been able to…..and then wont sleep much tonight as she arrives 5 45 am……..can’t wait to talk to her in LA!
Have done her room…….santa brought a stocking for her too(as requested) so thats at bottom of bed!
I think it will be great for maddie and jez to have the time here together, normally Jez would have to go back to work and maddie would be left alone with the baby before she feels confident. I think they are both looking forward to family time togethere, learning to be a family. The good thing about here is they can have space and time alone with support if they need it, they will not get any judgemental comments about how to raise a family, only gentle support. By the time they go back they will both feel confident about handling and responding to the baby. Neither of them had the smae up bringing as I had or even maddies dad, we were both used to handling babies coz we were the oldest of big families, it makes a difference.Kids now a days don’t often have experience when they have babies so having that support will be great for them…….oh and I get a bit out of it, I know some people think little babies are boring but I think that watching 2 people become parents and watching the bonding take place is fascinating as well, and being at the birth will be amazing, watching babies being born is magical anyway, watching my grandchild be born will be more so.
anyway, gotta go shop for maddies xmas, there was no point getting it before as sales started now so she gets more for the money…..I still know how to shop for a bargain!
only 21 hours to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dec o6

well my six weeks off are up…….:-(
I was bored at first but the past few weeks have found plenty to do……becoming a nanna has brought out my creative side, making quilts and bits for the babies. The girls have decided I am gonna be Nanna Angel……and of course thats what I am…well with a wee bit of devil thrown in.
The weather is great here, and whilst it is weird for xmas it also has benefits, everyone is in a holiday mood and its cool sitting outside on a balmy evening with the xmas lights on, it is just later when you can see them properly. Also different seeing santa in shorts and flip flops!!! All the parades are like the UK summer parades but with santa and elves etc!!
Bought table and chairs for garden – although maddie thought we had them already, had some weird dream, also bought pool for madz to sit in, jeff keeps teasing her about losing the water and her size, said to her she wouldnt be able to go shopping coz she wouldnt get through the doors…….she said she wouldnt be able to get on the plane then, he said course you will, you are getting a jumbo plane…….can see some serious ribbing going on when she gets here.
Have arranged her midwife, and guess what, she is English too!!
Mel calls and gets me to explain all her results, she wants me  to go through as much labour as possible using web cam…..that will be funny! she is gonna come over in July for a while.she is funny coz she has put on 7lb and is over 20 weeks…she says she has a bump but when madz saw her she said mum, she walks like an elephant and waddles like a duck but all she looks is bloated!! I told mel and she laughed!Maddie on the other hand looks like an elephant!…….she is definately looking pregnant.
Gracie has finished year 10, so serious study next year for her GCSE’s, she is now off for summer and xmas hols all rolled into 1, she is off for 8 weeks………why do we want to finish school when we are that age, I would love holidays like that again.
She has a boyfriend, Harlan……..well thats for the moment, she tends to get rid of them before she even goes on a date so we will see, but she is so cute when he calls her and she gets all giggly.
got all cards and pressies away…..costs more to send than buy!!!
amyway back to work monday, away in wellington tuesday and wednesday…….unless I win the lottery….
